LEDA are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. We are a multi-disciplinary workers’ co-operative of Building Services Engineers, Passive House Consultant, and Architects, delivering integrated design solutions in tandem with specialist advice, feasibility strategies and low carbon consultancy.
In an engineering role as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will be taking on all aspects of project work including calculations, specification and drawing work. You will also be working with other professionals on project teams, contributing to reports and carrying out site visits.
The LEDA team consists of experienced Chartered Engineers and Architects who will enable you to progress your career with training and mentoring, .
Our team of designers have the vision of being the first choice for sustainable building design in the North, and we are dedicated to working collaboratively to create great buildings that respect the environment and are a joy to use. Our ethos of environmental sustainability underlies every project we undertake. You will use the latest technology and be a key part of our future developments for us to deliver world class designs, including; Dynamic Thermal Modelling, BIM implementation, Passive House design, Post Occupancy Evaluations, and LEAN design, to name a few.
Ideally, you will have some post-study engineering experience, but we’d love to hear from anyone recently graduated or at the start of their career. What’s most important is a passion for sustainable design. An interest in learning new software and developing existing skills is a must. You will need a keen interest in energy, buildings, and creating the best working and living environments, including the nuts and bolts of how this is achieved from concept to completion. You will also need to be resourceful, conscientious, innovative, and able to work independently. Key to the role is confident communication with all levels of professionals and trades people, so good interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience. Our pay system is open and transparent, and after 6 months you can become a member of the co-operative and share in any surplus profits. We offer 6% Employer Pension Contribution, plus 30 days’ holiday.
